It Didn't Happen Overnight
There wasn't one magic moment where everything suddenly changed.
The transformation came from making better decisions repeatedly over time — taking training seriously, paying more attention to nutrition, learning how important recovery really is, and refusing to quit when progress wasn't instant.
What Changed
I became much more intentional about how I trained.
Instead of simply working harder, I started paying attention to how I was progressing, how I was recovering, what I was eating, and how those pieces worked together.
That process also made me increasingly interested in the science behind muscle growth, metabolism, recovery, body composition, and performance.
Where I Am Today
I'm still working.
That's probably one of the most important things I've learned. There really isn't a finish line.
My goal isn't to pretend I'm 25 again. My goal is to find out just how strong, lean, healthy, and capable I can become at this stage of my life.
Why I Created The Performance Lab
I wanted a place where I could share what I've learned and continue learning in public.
Some of the content here will come directly from my own experience. Other articles will look at published research and break complicated topics down into plain English.
Training. Nutrition. Recovery. Body composition. Performance.
And when the evidence doesn't support something, we'll say that too.
No miracle claims. No pretending there's a shortcut. Just experience, education, research, and the constant pursuit of improvement.
50 Isn't The Finish Line
It's another starting point.
